Electricity Rates rise higher in Texas for June 2007 – 9.1 – 10.3 cents kwh
Texas Electricity Rate Comparison
The Texas Electricity rate in comparison to the rest of the nation is starting to look a little more comparable. People thought that when deregulation struck in Texas that it actually worsened the electricity rate. What actually happened was a soike in natural gas prices. Now we see several states comparing or even higher in the average rate of electricity. Florida, District of Columbia, Delaware, New Jersey, Vermont, California, Alaska, Rhode Island, Maine, New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Hawaii all have higher average electricity rates then Texas. Texas is beginning to look much better in comparison with the other states. If we add a few nuclear power plants we could see our electricity rates in this state drop considerably.
