If you need to contact Prebuy Electric you may be able to reach them at one of the following emails or phone numbers. Prebuy Electric Company (I was told) filed for bankruptcy today, May 16 2008 and has made this known to the Public Utility Commission of Texas. Another source has told us they were unable to make their financial obligation to the PUCT (Public Utility Commission of Texas) which manages the Texas grid.

All of their customers have been moved to the POLR company or the provider of last resort so they do not lose their electric service. A PreBuy company associate contacted us to say they have not filed for bankruptcy although after having lost all their customers I assume they may file for bankruptcy soon or have to change things up quite a bit.

If you are a PreBuy Electric Company customer you may want to begin looking around for a competitive Texas electric company. The POLR electric rate you are now on is a back up plan and is by no means a competitive electric rate. The sooner you can get off it the better or just wait until you receive your first bill and see what I mean.

No and Low Deposit Option

If you need a no or low deposit electric provider in Texas then you can sign up with several no deposit offers by utilizing the green widget on the right. Many of these companies are very flexible and have a low and no deposit plan some but not all based on credit score that will work out well for everyone.

    INTENT TO BECOME A PRE=BUY CUSTOMER PAID A SAME DAY DEPOSIT IN THE AMOUNT OF 164.00 ON 05/15/2008. SERVICE AS OF TODAY 06/04/2008 HAS NOT BEEN TURNED ON. WITH CONTACT WITH PREBUY WAS TOLD THERE WOULD BE A REFUND NONE OF COURSE PREBUY HAS TAKEN MY MONEY AND DISAPPEARD I NEED SOME HELP TO FOLLOW UP ON A COMPLAINT AND HAVE MY FUNDS RETURNED DUE TO HIGH GAS I CAN NOT AFFORD TO SLEEP ON THIS LOST AMOUNT WANDA HILL 832 883-2747 THANKS

    I had Pre-Buy and paid them 202.00 on May19. We were told we would be getting a check back by customer service. Have not seen the check yet.

    Still also waiting to get paid thats not gonna happen!!! was told a month ago check was in mail 7 to 12 business days well may19th to june 18th is more than 12 business days unless my math is incorrect like prebuys!!!

    Checked PUC website today and found this information out. The PUC requires that REPS that leave the market return any unused portion of a deposit to a switched customer within 7 calendar days after a meter read. Prebuy is not holding their end of the deal up. You can file a complaint with PUC not sure if this is gonna do any good???

    Still waiting for my refund too. Was told on May 23 that my amount would be refunded in 3-5 business days. I was told that after being on hold for one and a half hours with a lady. Since then you can never reach anyone on the phone–it's always busy. Never got my depoosit back either. And I always paid for 1450 units but used only 551 each month. Seems they owe me a lot, which I will never see again. Over $800. I have filed with the PUC but to date, nothing there either. What a way to treat hard working people.

    I had service with PreBuy for a year, I didn't recieve a notice that my service was being terminated until I called and I already paid for which I have reciepts for. I was switch with out noticce. Now this company is trying to put this on my credit. I only want PreBuy to correct this I want no money.
